Friday evenings from 18:00 – 19:00
At Bromley Judo Academy, the 1st mat is designed for our younger Judoka aged 5 to 7 years. It focuses on fun activities to develop the children’s fundamental skills, judo specific technique, breakfalls and social skills. The session lasts an hour and begins with a warm-up game (or two!!) followed by skill development. The mat is led by Sensei Adrian or Sensei Ben with the help of qualified coaches and youth coaches. The sessions are carefully planned each week by Sensei Adrian and will include a recap on the previous weeks sessions to ensure the Judoka fully understand the technique.
As well as the physical Judo skills, children will develop confidence in the following life values:

Children aged 5 to 7 will be working to the SHO award grading system.
