SHO Awards

The SHO awards are British Judo’s grading scheme for 5 to 7 year old’s. It comprises of 9 separate awards. At Bromley Judo Academy, we set our own syllabus for the children to work towards. We believe that our syllabus is more challenging but absolutely achievable. These young Judoka are given a SHO Award Assessment every 4 months to test their improved Judo development ability. These SHO Assessments are performed during one of their normal training sessions and after 3 revalidation sessions have taken place. If successful on the SHO Assessment day the judoka are presented with their Award belt tab and certificate. By working hard at a younger age, it will prepare the Judoka for when they are working towards the Mon grades.

Please note – a FULL BJA LICENCE is required to enable you to be SHO assessed or Mon graded.
