April 2021 – Return to Judo – 7th May 2021

We are pleased to announce that we will be returning to full contact judo for the under 18’s from Friday 7th May 2021.

Bromley Judo Academy will be following the British Judo Association’s Return To Play Roadmap at Step 2
(shown below).

There are considerable changes and measures that have had to be made to allow us to return to our sport under BJA Step 2 (A Safe Return to Judo). All new changes, measures, procedures and rules will be activated from day one on our return, these take into account the safety of all which is our highest priority. We will all have to do our part to ensure that we can return to our sport in a covid safe environment as best we can. From that point in time this will become the new normal for the foreseeable future, unless step 2 is changed by our governing body the BJA (British Judo Association).

Only 14 players allowed in each session, sessions will be 45 minutes duration followed by 15 minutes to sanitize the reception area, dojo and toilet between each mat session, this is in accordance with the BJA risk assessment and a safe return to Judo guidelines, also to receive next mat judoka. Please ensure that you drop off and collect your child/children on time to enable this system to run smoothly.

New Timings We have had to alter the Judo session mat timings as follows:
(5-7 years mat) 5.30pm-6.15pm (Novice – 12th SHO)
(1st 8-16 years mat) 6.30pm-7.15pm (Novice – 3rd Mon)
(2nd 8-16 years mat) 7.30pm-8-15pm (4th Mon – 18th Mon)
(Seniors 18+ mat) 8.30pm-9.15pm (Seniors after 17th May TBC by BJA)

PLEASE NOTE – You cannot just turn up at the dojo as before, you must book your place on the Academy website. After completion of the online Athlete Indemnity Form you will receive a Green Pass to Participate your session email. To be repeated for each week.
